Organizational Development & Human Resource Management

Conditions

…FOR WORKING TOGETHER EFFECTIVELY

To work together profitably, I believe that it is appropriate to disclose some personal methods for analysing context, observing people and acting consistently to set out the system for the management and development of human resources within an organisation.

I start with the belief that:

  1. If you want to offer products and services of real tangible quality to your Customer, in the medium/long-term you CANNOT put off achieving real quality of action in your organisation.
What does an organisation’srefer to? It means paying attention to:
    1. the relationships which support it,
    2. the rules which govern its action,
    3. the processes which direct its operating flows,
    4. the organisational synergies that improve efficiency,
    5. the effective and consistent behaviours (“ways” of doing things) that are the foundation of the company “culture”.

By working constantly on these aspects your organisation will produce real quality for the Customer, in terms of products and services, as well as overall image. Basically, the quality of the system of internal professional relationships will allow you to provide real quality for external Customers.

  2. To achieve significant or, even better, excellent performance, you must the people in your organization.
The only lasting high level company performance comes from people who are truly “motivated”. In the short-term other factors affect the overall performance of an organisation and the individuals of which it is made up, but long-term the commitment of individuals only really matters and is of top quality when they are motivated to be part of the company project.
If you want to “motivate” your staff, you must accept that there are no shortcuts for doing this.
Motivation cannot be bought or imposed. But you can offer and build on all of the conditions for the people in your organisation to become a sincere and loyal part of the company project.
You have to provide reasons “why” they should be part of it and “why” they should act in a certain way.
